SCART Cable

It is important to transport the signals carefully, especially the video signals. At these high frequencies, they should be carried in co-axial cable. Video circuitry should be carefully laid out to avoid cross-talk. Differences of signal path lengths can cause some signals to arrive before others.

Some cheaper SCART cables use unshielded wires, which is just about acceptable for short cable lengths. For longer lengths, shielded co-ax cable become essential.

Fortunately it is possible to buy cable specifically for carrying SCART signals. Maplin stock no. XS43W at £1.99 per metre.
